Just a song for now.

There are a lot of exciting things happening:

End of the semester
Wedding planning
New job opportunities
Summer plans
And even plans for the fall semester, too.

And I want to write about all of it. But I have a couple of final assignments and matters of business to take care of before I'm officially finished with the semester, so for now I'm just going to share a song that I've been listening to these days. Gotta love Sara Bareilles.

And counting...

Exactly four months from today, I will be Mrs. DeYoung.

And that happy thought is enough to get me through any amount of finals and homework.

Here I Go, Making Lists Again.

This is what stands between me and the summer. (Oh, glorious summer.)

-Finishing my online Spanish homework.
-A final Spanish test.
-Two reports due in History and Lit of Musical Theatre.
-Two final projects due in History and Lit of Musical Theatre.
-One more voice lesson.
-A paper due in ballet.
-A final performance in ballet.
-A final project in Lighting Design.
-Turning in my practicum sheets.
-Performing in the LDSSA Spring Show.
-Preparations for the AAT Awards Show.
-Folk dance/Choralaires closing socials.

We can make it, right? The end is in sight! I'm simply aching for summertime. I'm finding myself constantly preoccupied with a major case of Spring Fever. (And Wedding Fever, at that.)

Come next Wednesday, all of my schoolwork and finals will be over. I'm just so excited for everything that this summer will bring. But for now... back to homework!

Nine days. Just nine days. We can do this.

You are Beautiful.

Just Because.

After several attempts at writing some sort of meaningful post about my schooling/goals/thoughts and feelings about life -- I've momentarily given up and settled on sharing this video with you instead.

Kyle showed it to me, and I kind of love it. So... we will save the serious stuff for another day.

I hope that everyone is having the loveliest of afternoons.
We've made it halfway through another week!
Now there's something that is surely worth celebrating.
(Wednesdays are always the longest, after all.)

Take a breather, give yourself a pat-on-the-back, and listen to some Diane Birch with me.
(Plus, the video is just so fun and entertaining.)

April Showers

Oh you know, I'm just enjoying the stormy weather from the warmth of this quiet little place I call home. I love the sound of thunder, and the sound of cars driving past on the wet pavement, and the sound of raindrops hitting my windowpane.

...And don't even get me started about the smell of the rain.

Days like today call for a couple of hours buried in a good book, or a heaping pile of blankets and a movie with my love, or a deep mug of hot cocoa topped with sweet whipped cream and sugar.

Right now though, I'm coveting a pair of these. If I had my very own pair of wellies, you can bet that I would be jumping in the puddles along my front walk today. I'm simply aching to run and laugh and play outside in the rain. I've been trapped inside for too long with all of this schoolwork and homework and studying stuff.

But... I don't have wellies or a playmate.
So I suppose I'll just finish writing my report for History and Lit of Musical Theatre.

Mmmmm. I love the rain. We don't experience rainstorms like this very often here, so I revel in them whenever they come to visit. What a perfect beginning on the first day of April.

...Oh yeah, and I'm loving this song right now. Do yourself a favor and have a listen.
(I just feel like it's a good "rainy day" song. And it's from my favorite movie, so... yeah.)
